La escuela acreditada Andrés Grillasca Salas comenzó a ofrecer sus servicios a la comunidad poncena aproximadamente para el 1970. En sus inicios fue parte del proyecto escuela sin grados hasta finales del los años 80. La escuela Andrés Grillasca Salas está ubicada en la Avenida Las Américas, Urbanización constancia Calle #9 en Ponce, Puerto Rico. Durante el año escolar 2008-2009 nuestra matrícula fue de 428 estudiantes desde Pre-kinder a Sexto Grado y Educación Especial.
Para lograr un mejor proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje la escuela tiene el siguiente personal:

El nombre de de la escuela Andrés Grillasca Salas es en honor a un gran ex-alcalde que tuvo la señorial ciudad de Ponce, quien fue alcalde de nuestra ciudad por espacio de 16 años. Fue un político entusiasta y uno de los servidores más genuinos y dedicados al bien común.
La filosofía escolar aspira a lograr una educación de excelencia ofreciendo a los estudiantes la oportunidad de adquirir conocimientos y experiencias que le permitan desarrollar una actitud positiva hacia la vida, el trabajo y la convivencia social como personas útiles y responsable en la comunidad en que viven.
Durante el mes de marzo del 2009 recibimos la visita del Consejo General de Enseñanza para evaluar y por ende recomendarnos para ser Escuela Acreditada. Durante el mes de mayo recibimos la noticia que nuestra escuela fue acreditada por los próximos cinco años con un 96%.

ResponderEliminarAndrés Grillasca Salas Elementary School could well be an accredited school with a bigger problem than just passing a written test. This school is located in one of the worst environmental places that you can imagine. The fuel emission generated by the traffic is well beyond the acceptable ranges. You know when you are exposed to carbon monoxide for five or six consecutive hours, five days a week and so on there is no mistakes you will get SICK and eventually die from it. It is obvious that is affecting the wellbeing of the staff and children. Just this week, six teachers were absent and reported basically the same complaints: problems breathing, sore throat, itchy skin, watery eyes and so on. Let’s not forget, children are send home with the same symptoms and who knows what is said to the parents. As we speak, two teachers are hospitalized right now as a result of the poor air quality. This school has a long history of environmental complaints that are cosmetically fixed or sometimes not fix, or passed through the red tape BALONEYCRACY of who has the power, who knows! So it looks like we have good teachers and smart children with a short life expectancy because we are allowing them to be exposed to a silent killer. Congratulations, your child passed the city test but will soon die of gas emanation. If your child did not pass the test is not because he or she had bad teachers, maybe is because both (your child and the teacher) might be intoxicated with the gases that they breath every single day. Therefore, blame God.
